Stribrna Skalice – For the fourth time, the beautiful, posh landscape was the scene of a charity running race "From Sight to Sight" organized by blind mountaineer and marathoner Jan Riha, who not only organized the event with his friends, but also participated in the race. More than 220 runners took the starting line on Saturday, April 8, a large group from the team's general partner, Rebuy Stars.

"It's quite incredible when you're watching Honza Riha with a radio to her ear as she moves through a crowd of people. You wouldn't think he couldn't see. I admire him, hats off. I'll be happy to take part in the run, nota bene, knowing that it's extra for a good cause," said one of the runners who came to Stribrna Skalice from Ricany. It is from there that a seven-year-old boy named Simon Vseticka, afflicted with achondroplasia (the cause of disproportional dwarfism, i.e. insufficient growth of long bones), will receive the proceeds of the event in excess of CZK 53,000 as well as a sponsorship from Rebuy Stars.

The main race started half an hour before noon with the mayor of Stribrna Sklaice, Jiri Prochazka. The shorter course of 5.5 km was run by 58 competitors, with even 75 participants venturing out for 12 kilometres. The fastest runners covered 5.5km in 21.5 minutes, then 12km in less than 47 minutes, in a very hilly terrain. The best runner from the general partner's team was Petr Nemec, who placed an excellent total of 9th, in the 30-40 years category even on the bronze step, congratulations. A mile-long track was prepared for nearly 80 children.
